GOLD FIELDS CRAWL
THIS WAS A HOTEL BACK IN THE 1800’s.
It’s now a guest house in the main street of Cue – North East of Perth Western Australia.
Cue was a very busy mining town in the early 20th Century, now it is a prospector’s delight.
I travelled to Cue in June 2009 hoping to find my pot of Gold, alas it wasn’t to be.
How-ever I did find 3 lovely ‘small’ nuggets.
I was walking along the verge of the main highway, with my trusty metal detector, always the optimist, when I stepped into a hole full of water. Suddenly my detector went off. Believing it would be some tin foil or metal I wasn’t that excited till I started digging and the detector was getting louder and louder. I scooped out a pile of mud, waved the detector over and there mixed in the mud were the 3 nuggets.
I spent a month here in Cue but never found another bit of Gold.
The general area has a lot of history and was a very educational and enjoyable trip.
